20 WORDS // 20 SECONDS is a free-to-play word title where players have to come up and type 20 words based on certain criteria within 20 seconds. Developed by Kevin Hutchins for the 20-Second Game Jam 2023, this typing game forces players to think on their feet and accurately type their answers on the text box.
20 WORDS // 20 SECONDS also compels you to dig deep into your vocabulary bank since you can’t use the same word. If you hate the steep 20-second time limit, the 20 WORDS // ?? SECONDS mode lets you enjoy the game at a leisurely pace.
Provide 20 answers
In 20 WORDS // 20 SECONDS, the difficulty of the prompts ranges from typing a seven-letter word to providing a word that begins or contains a certain letter. If you’re lucky, the game may also ask you to write any word to your liking. The computation of scores is based on the remaining time, the number of correct answers, and word length.
The words you type have their corresponding point. You get one point for your first word, two points for the second one, and so on. To illustrate, let’s say your answer to the third prompt is “These.” Since it’s your third answer, you’ll get three points. In addition, you’ll earn one point for the first letter and two points for the second.
All succeeding letters — in this case, “E,” “S,” and “E” — get three points, totaling 15 points for the third prompt. Moreover, a time bonus of five points is given for every remainder 0.1 seconds for completing the 20 prompts. All the aforementioned components will then influence your final score. However, some words are not accepted by the game and disappointingly, it doesn’t save your high score.
